A four-letter industry code describing a vehicle's category, type, transmission and fuel/air-con.
ACRISS codes (for example CDMR = Compact, 4-5 door, Manual, air-con) let rental companies, brokers and GDS systems describe cars consistently. Each letter position has a defined meaning set by the Association of Car Rental Industry Systems Standards.
